7…..( Upgrade Lab Prep CCC™ to a PilotPrep CCC™ and on
to ProcessPrep CCC™ ). Having optimized the process in the laboratory, scale up is linear to any scale required owing to the modular nature of the ProcessPrep CCC™. Shown in the diagram are various options for scale up configurations. There is no limit the number of units, and each unit may have one or more coils per bobbin.
To realize the maximum possible manufacturing flexibility……….coils may be used in series, in parallel or configured as Simulated Moving Bed. Different coils not connected in series, can be performing quite different biphasic liquid / liquid separations or if manifolded appropriately a sample can be split between several coils for more rapid throughput. Typically flows of 25 to 100 ml /min would be used with
process coils, but if ten coils were manifolded, the compound flow would
be the equivalent of 1000 ml /min, a flow which is in itself not presently
used in Counter Current chromatography on a single coil. .
