Coil
internal diameter and coil material are key parameters in Counter Current
Chromatography ( See CCC Intro ). In the example shown a custom bobbin
combination was prepared to allow coil internal bore optimization for
resolution ( small bore id ) or for maximum mass injected ( largest id
and fastest flow possible ) that will still allow adequate resolution
for purified target compound recovery.

.The options made available in this case were in PTFE, 1.0 mm id and 1.6 mm od plus 3.2 mm id and 4.7 mm od. For the Stainless Steel coils the options were 1.6 mm id and 3.2 od plus 2.1 mm id and 3.2 mm od.

All bobbins have the coils potted with aircraft adhesive
for extended life, as experience has shown from our earlier non-potted
designs, plus reported failures of the non-potted designs of our competitors,
that the lifespan of non-potted coils is vastly inferior to potted coils.
