The detection technique utilized in this HSCCC gradient was the AECS Moving Belt LCI-FID/MS detector. LCI stands for the LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPH INTERFACE. This Interface allows any liquid stream ( be this HPLC, HSCCC or a liquid process stream etc ) containing solutes to be interfaced to any gas phase detectors such as FID, NPD, MS, and MPD etc. For researchers interested in this technology for compounds with little to no chromophores the following three slides detail information on its operation :- 1.
